Get the Vote Out = Bad government

We have heard and read a truck load of ads admonishing, pleading for and commanding that everyone get out there and vote. Not a good idea. A survey as described in the link below reaffirms the notion that most Americans are just too dumb an/or lazy to be allowed to vote. They don't know the issues, the candidates or the problems being faced by America. They only want their party to win.

Shame on us for our failure to be educated on the issues facing our future and allowing self-serving, politcal whores run the show.

What, me vote?

Well the point is for people

Well the point is for people to be more involved, to think about issues and discuss them.

Sure a lot of people are dumb and/or misinformed but it's better to be involved than to be completely apathetic (IMHO).

A-C, I disagree. If a person is to dumb or apathetic to understand the issues, how does it further the cause of a relevant and responsive government to have such dimwits vote? They vote on party lines or they vote on what they think the issue is or they vote to give themselves more money. They do not vote on which of the issues is best for America.

If something like that ever

If something like that ever happened, you'd see the GOP winning with 80% of the vote.

funny I spoke to two guys I know both in their late 30's and reminded them to vote, both told me they had never registered to vote. At first I admonished them for not exercising their right to participate, but now I think you are right ,if they aren't engaged enough to register or vote they probably shouldn't be part of the process.
